Description

The Conventions Relationship Manager will oversee and ensure flawless execution of the conventions planned across all Janssen Therapeutic Areas. The Convention Planner is responsible for the execution and logistics of tradeshows to achieve business objectives.  Develops and manages a comprehensive event plan for all internal tasks, promotional items, literature, and other details. This role provides client relationship support through interacting directly with internal Therapeutic Managers / Directors and vendors or service providers for best arrangements within the budget. Build and maintain relationships with internal clients and vendors. Assists with convention housing reservation programs as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee the planning and execution of Janssen conventions and congresses.

  • Foster the collaboration efforts between internal stakeholders and our third-party exhibit vendor, understanding the limitations of brand budgets and looking for ways to leverage previous builds on future events.
  • Work closely with third-party exhibit vendors.
  • Ensure the successful and timely execution of the brand’s exhibit vision and strategy.
  • Ensure each convention/congress is effectively project-managed to identify risks and issues early in the process to implement a timely resolution.
  • Budget and business planning.
  • Conventions schedule management.
  • Attend all planning meetings related to congresses.
  • Attend all status meetings with exhibit vendors and supporting agencies.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with all Janssen-related policies and procedures.

This role will support US-based National Conventions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in the conventions space is preferred.
  • Hybrid Position: must work in the office (Titusville, NJ and or Horsham, PA) two days per week and for requested ad-hoc meetings.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends, as necessary.
  • 5-10% travel required.
  • Ability to self-start as well as work as a part of a team.
  • Experience working within a demanding, fast-paced environment with extremely high standards.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills, including effectively prioritizing and executing tasks conforming to shifting priorities and timelines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to individuals at all levels, both internal and external to the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 2-3 years of convention/congress vendor and or account management experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with program budgets, recording, and tracking program costs.
  • Ability to think beyond the function, identifying connections between different areas of the organization to see the broader perspective.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate vision and commitment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
