EVENTS COORDINATOR
KERA is seeking a dynamic, creative and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to plan and execute donor events and engagement activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events Coordinator plans and executes KERA’s donor-focused events and related engagement activities. Although the position is part of the Events and larger Audience Development team, this role works in close ongoing partnership with the Fundraising and Capital Campaign teams to deliver mission-driven experiences that deepen donor connections to KERA – online, on the air, and in neighborhoods throughout North Texas.
This is a FLSA classified non-exempt position, which is eligible for overtime. The position reports directly to the Events Director and is included on the Audience Development Team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Plan and execute mission-driven donor and campaign events including venue selection, A/V coordination, catering, budget, payment, and vendor and staff communications
Work with People & Culture team to coordinate event volunteers, including sourcing and matching qualified volunteers with open opportunities
Maintain internal event calendar
Maintain external calendar of events in the community and ensure KERA has sufficient presence at such events
Create event materials including drafting event landing pages, invitations, and on-site materials
Coordinate on-site presence at events, including staff and check-in needs, etc.
Collaborate closely with Vice President of Philanthropic Giving, and other fundraising teams on all aspects of donor events
Serve as on-site contact for venues and partners at events
Nurture and build relationships with coworkers, vendors, venues, and other industry contacts while crafting and implementing the creative and logistical aspects of all events

Requirements

One or more years of experience in events, nonprofit fundraising events, event marketing or public relations environment
Self-starter with the proven ability to complete multiple tasks on deadline
Keen attention to detail
A strong command of Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills
Aptitude for interacting and communicating diplomatically with external organizations/partners, vendors, internal departments and diverse audiences
Strong collaboration skills
Ability to work on nights and weekends
Physical ability to carry and set up tents, tables, chairs and other bulky items.
Current driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation

SALARY RANGE
$55-65,000 annually depending on experience

LOCATION:
KERA welcomes a hybrid working environment. This position is expected to work in our downtown Dallas office at least 60% of the time (equivalent to 3 days per week). More time onsite may be required depending on event schedules. Night and weekend availability is required.
