The Group Manager of Meetings and Exhibits will be responsible for overall planning, coordination, and successful execution of Globus Meetings, Events and Tradeshows. The person needs to have strong self-starting qualities to independently manage a team of meeting planners and exhibit manager, and lead the coordination of multiple projects to ensure timely and successful completion. The job requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced corporate environment. Must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, communication, organization, flexibility and maturity along with a willingness to get their hands dirty.
Oversee the planning, organizing and coordination of Globus’ participation in Surgeon Society conferences, meetings and tradeshows.
Plan and organize other Globus corporate meetings held both at off-site locations and at Globus Headquarters. These include activities for management, field management, product development and sales meetings.
As part of the planning and organizing responsibilities, you will assist the meeting planners responsible for the above meetings and develop a timeline for each meeting.
Assist in supervising the Logistics Inventory Coordinator in the overall management of Globus equipment/product being sent to any off-site locations assuring that the display/activities of the meeting can be met.
Maintenance of all meeting information (meeting details, attendee tracking, badges, hotels, equipment required, speaker arrangements, post meeting feedback). This includes a meetings database (excel/access) and a corporate calendar.
Responsible for assigning sourcing of all off site meetings to meeting planner and working with them through the evaluation of properties to the execution of the contract.
Serve as a resource for team for all phases of logistic planning. This may include setting-up master billing and direct billing instructions, rooming list, food and beverage requirements, recreational activities, security, etc.
Oversee Budgeting for Meetings Department. This includes prepared budget cost specifications to include hotel and travel as well as any additional components for all anticipated functions.
Assist in planning of National Sales Meeting and all components of the meeting.
Special projects and duties as assigned.
7-10 years’ experience with Meeting Planning and Exhibits
Deep expertise and proficiency in Congress and Meetings management
Proven track record of delivering complex projects across enterprise on time, with strong stakeholder support, to drive improvements in performance
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and web applications for meeting planning.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills with a high attention to detail a must.
Can execute and be hands-on, demonstrating an ability to be tactical as well as strategic
Ability to work independently and lead a tight-knit team of meeting planners and exhibit manager.
Ability to learn quickly – scientific and technical knowledge
Ability to travel – 20%
